I designed Pebbles for comfortable, full-time living, but I knew I’d also be taking her on some crazy adventures. I came up with a layout that felt like me—and it won first place for Best Layout at the 2022 Adventure Van Expo!
Pebbles was my full-time home for four years. This layout isn’t just something I dreamed up—it’s one I cooked, slept, worked, and traveled in every day.
Food and cooking are my passions, so the kitchen came first. I needed room to create, space for my extensive collection of ingredients and gadgets, and a setup that worked for off-grid living. A shower was a must, and I couldn’t live without a cozy bed. Add in plenty of storage and a few high-end touches, and it’s a wonder I fit it all into one van.
I put hundreds of hours into Pebbles. I wired every circuit, cut every piece of wood, and made about a thousand trips to the hardware store. I’m so proud of the van I lovingly created.
It hurts my heart a little to say goodbye to Pebbles. We’ve had so many adventures together, but I think there’s something beautiful about fully enjoying a chapter of your life and knowing when it’s time for something new. I’ve found myself in Bend, OR, and feel like I’m right where I’m meant to be.
Since settling here, I’ve hardly used Pebbles, and I don’t want to see her sitting still when she could be out making someone else’s dreams come true. It’s time for her next chapter, too.
